Today over 300K domains were registered. Now what’s the plan for all those domains? Some will go into the Aftermarket … while others will be used as personal sites and others will be given as gifts.
Previously we covered the value of giving domains as gifts. Tis the season of giving … why not give the gift that keeps giving … domain names.
“How do you do that?” – you ask.
Once you register the domain and it is in your account, you can keep in your account until they are ready to use it … not a good idea.
Kind of depends on who it is …
If it was for my husband or wife, girl friend or boy friend, to start his 2016 business, I would make it a BIG deal! I would open an account at my favorite Registrar, register it, add privacy to it (got to keep it secret til the day) lock it in for at least 5 years.
Now here’s how to make it a BIG DEAL…
Buy a beautiful card, hand write my comments and best wishes, print out a domain document, frame it, put it in a gift box, gift wrap it and wait to give it to him or her for the holidays or a birthday.
Be creative when giving domains as gifts and you will bring out the true spirit of the season.
Who to give a domain gift …
Sons and daughters will need a personal domain in the future to direct future employers to their online social sites, resume’ and more.
That passion inside of him or her that is waiting to become a business … why not buy a domain that shows what it is they would like to become … a chef means a domain like chef dot ___. PastryChef dot ___ or PersonalChef dot ____ and so on.
They will remember this domain gift long after the concert passes and the flowers have withered.
